Arthur Urbach (son of Manuel) moved to Oak Park around 1959. While the "outside" business sign read: "Manuel Urbach and Son", the stationary used for the business read: BERG and URBACH MONUMENT. This was because (unbeknownst by the Jewish community) the 3 major "Jewish" monument dealers in town where actually "in business" with each other! Karl Berg, Sid Deutch (of the Detroit Monument business)and Arthur Urbach, set-up a corporation in which all three men capitolized on the Jewish monument trade for the Jewish community. So, for example...if you didn't like Sid, you could go to Karl, and so forth. How do I know this? Arthur Urbach was my father in law for over 30 years!
