Release Date: Monday 15 February 2010:

THE THREE DEGREES The Three Degrees (2010 issue UK 11-track digitally remastered CD album - The Three Degrees' Philadelphia International Records debut made quite an impact upon its release in 1974. Having been R&B hit makers for years, the group were no strangers to the American Soul Chart, but the pairing of the group with Philadelphia's Gamble & Huff took them to an iconic level of appreciation. The top 20 album spawned the now classic UK #1 'When Will I See You Again', the top 20hit 'Year Of Decision' and their Philly debut single 'Dirty Ol' Man'. This 2010 edition comes expanded with 3 Bonus Recordings including 2 collaborations with MFSB: 'Love Is The Message' and 'TSOP [The Sound Of Philadelphia]', the classic theme from 'Soul Train', plus Tom Moulton's 1977 Disco remix of 'Dirty Ol' Man').

I'm excited to finally see the group's first P.I.R. album get a release on CD.

Does anyone know why no unreleased tracks were included on this set? I'm sure there's some great stuff by the girls sitting in those vaults at Philly Inter. Records.

Young reviewer RUTH KILPATRICK finds some Motown magic at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena

HAVING been brought up on old Motown 45s, last night’s event at the Metro Radio Arena was incredibly special.

Not only are the Four Tops (pictured) and the Temptations doing their greatest hits tour, but they also brought along The Drifters and the Three Degrees in support.

Providing a much-needed injection of soul to the rainy March night, the Three Degrees soon had everybody suitably warmed up with their well-constructed performance and familiar melodies.

Each of the ladies looked stunning, their dance routines showing off the costumes to full effect.

To those that were arriving just as When Will I See You Again came to an end, you missed not only a great set but also a lesson in pure old-fashioned class.

Do you want so see something extremely rare of TTD ? This is it ! 1970, never seen before, their appearance in the the famous Ed Sullivan Show (US,1970): Val, Faye & Sheila sing "I Do Take You" (their own song) and, in a medley, imitate the singing styles of the Supremes and the Andrews Sisters.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =CO37pCrFqlU&fmt=18

And that's not all ! Another very rare one: The Johnny Carson Show, 1973 - one of the first times (probably the first time on TV) they do "Dirty Ol' Man"... how the dance routines of this song changed in time is unbelievable.
After that the spanish "Somos Novios".
