http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =31vbS1bOrbg One of the most underrated R&B chart toppers in modern history. You'd never know how big that record was living in NYC though. Barely received any real airplay out here. |

Man, Timmy, where did the time go? I remember this burning up the dance floor at the Yellow Pages nightclub in Denver Colorado late in '78. Thanks for the memories. |

Man, if you taped most of the "Best Of Soul Train" shows, you should check out the episode with Gloria Gaynor and Gino Vanelli. The ST gang are dancing real heavy to "Aqua Boogie" in that particular installment. They're doing the swim dance and everything. It is a clear indication of how big that record was in L.A.. |

Man, I need to get with someone to upload the videos that I have. The way that they played "Aqua Boogie" in 1995 with Gabe Gonzalez behind the kit would fry anyone's brain. |

Thank you. Here's other questions, when did it first hit the charts and what position did it hit when it debut? And how long did it stay on the charts? Sorry for all these questions but when it comes to P-Funk I need to find out every little details. Its 2:18 in your area, are you watch Gone Country right now? |

Oh hell no. I refuse to watch that crap. GC is supposed to get his own reality show out of this, so I'll wait for that to come out. And now the stats: "Aqua Boogie" debuted on the Billboard R&B charts on 12/9/78. Chart entry position is unknown at this time. It remained on the R&B charts for 18 weeks. It only reached as high as number 89 on the Billboard Hot 100. It entered the charts while "One Nation Under A Groove" was still positioned high on the R&B charts. |

Timmy Funk, that record was so popular that we heard it and about it before it enter the Billboard Charts. I was in my first quarter as a freshman in college and we partied to it weeks before Thanksgiving! LOL! |

So in essence, you're saying that at least in terms of that record, Denver, Colorado out funked NYC. How embarrassing! Here's a question for the rest of you water-head mugs. How many of you had your minds blown when you first bought the "Motor Booty Affair" on CD and found out that they tacked on 50 additional seconds on "Aqua Boogie"? Personally, I wasn't ready for that sheeet! (Message edited by timmyfunk on February 07, 2009) |

Who's from Denver? That's 50 seconds more Funk, 50 secs more Bernie. What didn't you like about that Tim? What I felt was unnecessary was the 12" vers of Flash Light. |

Timmy Funk, in those days there were a lot of us "newly transplants" there from back East and we would go home and bring back the latest in everything. Soooooo......LOL! Yes we partied to "Aqua Boogie (BABY)" way before Christmas 1978~ LOL! |

Here's one right back at 'cha Chi: http://myfunk.ning.com/photo/p hoto/show?id=2467876%3APhoto%3 A53849 This was the infamous gig in which most of their costumes and props went to another venue, instead of going to Madison Square Garden. An intentional attempt to sabotage the Funk. |
