The Hart Brothers split up and formed their own groups.

William Hart tours with Randy Cain & Major Harris as the Delfonics.

Wilbur Hart has the Delphonics with two other singers as well.

"I Told You So" with its kick buttock bass line and "Think It Over" with its take turn leads are among my favorites from the DELPHONICS. If your able to find the CD titled "The Professionals", issued by KENT, get it. It has unissued tracks from the "ALIVE AND KICKING" sessions and is a must for any DELPHONICS fan. Its CDKEND 165.

KevGo..Randy does not tour anymore and Major does occasionally when Poogie double books the group.
Poogie has a guy name Samuel Thompkins who worked in his and Wilbert's group at one time and a guy name Freddie from NY. The last 2 guys John Johnson and Garfield Fleming quit on him.

Hi Ralph, thanks for the offer. I would really like that. I'll be off to Jamaica, and then London next weekend. I will not have full access to a computer while I'm away, so when I come back yes.

When You Get Right Down To It, and Tell Me This Is a Dream are really great songs too.

They tore up "Hurts So Bad" pretty good, too! Definitely one of those CDs I can put on and not have to worry about skipping any tracks......

I love hard core/gutbucket/down home soul as much as anyone, but I still lean to the sweetness and slickness of this kind of thing a bit more....right up my alley, for sure...

Rashaan Roland Kirk's instrumental) but yes the
Delphonics verion is my all time favorite. Poogie did sing the shollymock outta that damn song! I still get goosebumps listening to his
delivery...

Follow Every Dream was a beautiful ballad & brings back some great memories of '79 & that crazy movie starring Dr. J & Jonathan Winters.

"Can You Remember" was another great one & I liked "My New Love", amongst so many others. The instrumental of "How Could You" was as great as the vocal. Man, back then I loved The Delfonics as much as I did The Temptations. Many people forget that back then, here in the N.Y./Metro area, The Delfonics were huge...

HUGE!!!

Poogie's Delfonics will be performing here in N.Y. soon & Wilbert's Delphonics just played here about 2 months ago. N.Y. native Joe Branch sings Poogie's parts & Joe sings them well. That is the group who performed on the PBS special a few years ago.

The Delfonics were one of the best ever & I miss those innocent days.

The first time I saw the Delfonics live, I made up my mind from then that's what I was gonna do.
Their style and unique sound had the girls literally eating out of their hands. They brought a special kind of love in their music. You could say they "Blew My Mind". I must also comment on the arrangements by the master, himself Mr.Thom Bell.

another saga in the ever growing delfonics clone department.yes, there is another group out here singing delfonics songs.my man and i went out the other night to see a show when they announced this group.to my surprise they were very good.the more they sang the better i liked them. i realized that one of the members was John Johnson, who sang with William Hart & Wilbert Hart back in the day. then sang with William Hart & Garfield Ruffin, or Flemming, or what ever his real last name is. he is teamed up with a guy that looks similar to William hart now, but sounds like william hart 25 years ago. they even have a randy Cain look-a-like in the other guy singing with green eyes. never the less they sounded great.i am a dye hard delfonic fan and i must say, this group finally got it RIGHT.they call themselves THE FONICS. john Johnson has put on a few pounds over the years but he still looks good.

Delfonics faves:
Face It Girl, It's Over (Nancy Wilson's tune)
Can You Remember (song immortalized by the Jackson 5)
(You Can't Be) Loving Him (Delfonics and Thom Bell meet Bacharach and David in the arrangement department and come off sounding strong!)
Break Your Promise (need I say more)
Going Out Of My Head/Hurt So Bad
Trying To Make A Fool Of Me

Mikey,
David Ebo sang with the Bluenotes, he replaced Teddy. "I should be your lover" (first recorded by the O'Jays), and "Prayin", then he went solo and so long.

Here's some triva for you. Originally there four Delfonics.

Herbert (Randy) and Gerald( Jerry) Kane , Jerry being the drummer.

William ( Poogie) and Wilbur Hart, the two sets of brothers live around the corner from each other in West Phlia.

They were first known as the "Orphonics."

They sometimes used the P and the H in the spelling of the names.

Hi!

At one point there were at least three sets of the group, two sets of the Delfonics and one set of the Delphonics.

Best regards
Heikki

Hi!

After Frank Washington had worked with The V.I.P.'s in the late 60s and with the Futures (1971 - '82), he started writing songs.

Frank: "I sang with Wilbert Hart's Delphonics for about ten years, from 1985. It was Wilbert, Major Harris and me. I recorded with Wilbert, but none of the product was released...
After that I sang with William Hart and the Delfonics. We did a CD called Forever New in 1999. That was William, Major Harris and me. I stayed with William's group till I got into the Spinners.
When I was with the Delfonics, William Hart had two groups. He would go out with his group, and I would have another group and would go out. His was William, Randy Cain and a guy named Garfield Fleming. I was doing the same thing he was doing. Mine was me, Major Harris and a guy named Freddie Ingelton."
At one point John Johnson and Pat Palmer were also part of William's group.
(Soul Express: The Spinners story, part 5)

Best regards
Heikki
